Math Geeks & Science Freaks

 

The main goal of the project is to share good practices in primary school teaching between partners.
The core of the project is that science should be taught in a more enjoyable way. It is not only a memorizing method, but understanding and making sense of situations. The main aim is to create a mathematical mindset using an active approach to mathematics knowledge and to develop number sense. Increasing motivation and self confidence towards students. The project wants to encourage the usage of collaborative and noncompetitive groups work.

Aims

 

Develop number sense;

Increase curiosity and interest at science

Create a mathematical mindset;

Increase self-confidence and motivation towards math attitude;
Collaborate for the same purpose;
Develop English language for communication.

Develop critical thinking and creativity.

Develop student, parent, teacher cooperation

Develop cognition and use of ICT technology

work process

All teachers involved in the project will work together on equal terms, setting the schedule of activities, ways of carrying out tasks and publishing the results of the project.

We chose messenger, WhatsApp and e-mail as a form of communication, experience exchange and task setting. The project will run from 01/10/2021 to 26/06/2022

october: meeting project partners, adding students on twinspace

 Creation of facebook, instagram and whatsapp groups, creation of blog.

Creation of the project plan with partners, distribution of tasks.

November:  creating international groups. Creating logos,

December: creating digital games, new year celebration, first teachers and students online meeting.

January:  ,, science is fun’’, - experiments

February: safer internet day celebration, creating posters- online meeting

March: Science magazine, -presentation international group works

April: Celebration world health day on 7th April, and world earth day on 22nd  April

May: Carrying out determined collaborative works, preparing e-books, virtual exhibition...

 

 

 

 

Expected results

 

1. Students learn to math and science while having fun.

2. Recognize Web2.0 tools and use technology.

3. Developing students' imagination and self-confidence
